In late 2025, the AS-SBC took a leading role in the Global Alliance for Social and Behaviour Change, specifically co-chairing committees for the upcoming 2026 International SBCC Summit in Panama. The society focused on organizing regional “pre-summit” events and ensuring that African case studies such as the Tosemberera model, are featured prominently in the global curriculum.
The AS-SBC technical standards for SBC measurement were adopted as a benchmark for the abstracts and presentations to be featured at the 2026 Summit. Connected with over 2,500 global practitioners and advocates through the Global Alliance’s virtual networking and planning hubs.
Successfully positioned the African practitioner community as a leading source of innovation for the world, ensuring that the 2026 global agenda is grounded in the practical successes and technical expertise found within the 15 AS-SBC Country Chapters.
